Pillsbury's original Business Plan limited coverage to the Modern Trade.  They had decided that distribution to the Traditional Trade would be too complicated and ultimately uneconomic.  When later sales volumes were too low, Pillsbury turned to IQFM to recruit a team of 25 salesmen to create a network of wholesale partners and visit 5,000 Traditional Trade stores on a weekly cycle. Within three months sales volume from the Traditional Trade matched that of the Modern Trade.
